LRT streams and on-demand content are bandwidth-hungry. If the player freezes mid-playback or shows a buffering spinner that never goes away, start by checking your connection speed — stable streaming needs at least 5 Mbps for HD. Switch from Wi-Fi to a wired connection if possible. Clearing the browser cache often resolves stuck video, especially after a site update. On mobile, force-closing the LRT app and reopening it usually gets playback going again.
Live broadcasts are more sensitive to connection instability than recorded content. Even brief packet loss causes the stream to drop. Restart your router, move closer to the access point, or switch networks entirely. If the issue only affects live content and not on-demand video, the problem is almost always on the network path between you and the CDN, not the device.
If lrt.lt loads partially or not at all, try a different browser first. Extensions like ad blockers can interfere with the site's scripts. Disable them temporarily and reload. If the homepage loads but article pages don't, it's often a DNS issue — switch to a public DNS server like 1.1.1.1 in your network settings.
The on-site search can behave oddly with diacritics or partial Lithuanian words. Type the full word without abbreviations, and avoid special characters if the search feels unresponsive. Refreshing the page before searching again helps when the interface has been idle for a while.
This is a common symptom of a hardware acceleration conflict. In desktop browsers, go to settings and disable hardware acceleration, then reload the player. On smart TVs, the LRT app may need a full device restart rather than just closing the app, since TV operating systems handle memory differently.
Not all content has subtitles available, but when they should appear and don't, check the player settings icon during playback. If the option exists but enabling it does nothing, try a different browser or update the app. On some older Android versions, subtitle rendering breaks after system updates and requires reinstalling the app.
